The primary piece of equipment for the GYROTONIC® method is the GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® that consists of two pieces: a seven-foot-tall, gracefully-carved wooden tower with two sets of pulleys and weights, and a padded bench with two rotating handles. The rotating handles allow you to perform a series of arches and curls which smoothly guide your spine through flexion and extension while simultaneously opening the chest and shoulders. Weights on the pulleys provide resistance and support the movements of your legs, arms, or hands in the pulley’s straps. The overall movement is smooth and fluid, which improves strength and stability while being kind to your joints.
Our group classes are small, usually not more than four students to ensure a safe and effective workout. Students work in unison through a sequence of appropriately leveled choreography, while the certified instructor guides each student through safe and proper form. All of these classes will cover the GYROTONIC® syllabus with an emphasis on form, transitions and rhythm. All classes and sessions are 55 minutes in duration.
We are one of the few studios in Los Angeles that is equipped to host GYROTONIC® classes. Five Tower units allow us to teach in an intimate setting without the high cost of private sessions.

The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM® is a holistic approach to movement that is designed to meet the needs of people of all ages and abilities. GYROTONIC® students are both young and old, rehabilitating from injuries or enhancing their sport performance. Some of the benefits of GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® exercises include increased strength and flexibility, renewed energy and vitality and a general sense of calm and well being.
GYROKINESIS® adheres to the same principles and concepts of GYROTONIC®, but does so without the use of equipment. It can often feel similar to a dance class or yoga class because of the group dynamic. Flow and rhythm are an essential component of class.
GYROKINESIS® includes stool work, mat and standing work. Similar to yoga, students have the opportunity to experience a strong sense of community. The classes move, breathe and grow together. The movements stimulate the nervous system, open energy pathways and oxygenate the blood. GYROKINESIS® increases body awareness, coordination and flexibility with special attention to spinal motions and joint articulation.
