Shevi Baruch

Body Rhythm Founder, Shevi, has assembled the top Pilates, GYROTONIC® & GYROKINESIS® method instructors in Los Angeles to offer clients world-class training that produce results tailored to each client’s needs.

Shevi’s training integrates progressions and adaptations to meet the demands of biomechanics of body conditioning, pre and post natal, and the design of corrective programs. Shevi applies her skills and specialized knowledge to individualized training sessions with her clients, teaching them how to incorporate body awareness and the ability to move into their daily lives.

Shevi Baruch is a native of Israel with a Bachelors degree in Speech Therapy and Clinical Audiology from the Tel-Aviv University, and a Masters degree from the Program of Brain Sciences at the Bar-Ilan University.

Shevi studied the GYROTONIC® &  GYROKINESIS® methods and has became a Pre –trainer for both GYROTONIC® & GYROKINESIS®. Shevi is also trained to teach how to use the special equipment of the GYROTONIC® method. Shevi studied the method of Pilates and received her Pilates Certification under the instruction of Tamar Tsachi, at Tamar Studio in Israel, as well as with Marie-José Blom at Long Beach Dance Conditioning Studio and Movement Academy, in Long Beach, California.


Betty Townsley

Manager, Pilates Instructor

Betty is a native of Australia. Pilates was recommended to her for rehabilitation due to a car accident in 2002, which led her on her journey to find ways to strengthen her body and achieve overall health. After experiencing the amazing benefits of Pilates for many years she decided to become an instructor.

She studied with Marie-Jose Blom at Long Beach Dance Conditioning and was certified in 2009.  Betty also completed the comprehensive teacher training program with Body Arts and Science International in 2012.

Betty is a dedicated and passionate teacher who strives to bring out the best in herself and her clients. Her mission is to show her clients how to experience their bodies in a whole new way to enjoy the strength and freedom acquired by her training.


Elizabeth Jackson

GYROKINESIS®  Master Trainer, Specialized Equipment

Since receiving her BA in Liberal Arts from Harvard University in 2001, Elizabeth has had the good fortune of training with many of the world’s inspirational and leading Mind-Body educators.  Elizabeth has earned certifications from Juliu Horavath, the founder of GYROTONIC®; Romana Kryzonowska, the famous student of Joseph Pilates of the Pilates NY Guild; and Yamuna Zake of Yamuna Body Rolling™ in NYC.  She has studied anatomy and physiology with Tom Myers, the founder of Anatomy Trains Myofascial Meridians™, and various styles of yoga with many different world re-known Yoga instructors.

During her career as a Mind-Body instructor, Elizabeth has worked with injuries such as hip replacements and spinal fusions, illnesses like fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis, and bone disorders like osteoporosis and scoliosis.  She’s worked with everyday people and professionals, as well as celebrities such as athlete Shaquille O’Neal, and actress Nicollette Sheridan.


Erika Hassan

Authorized GYROTONIC® & GYROKINESIS®  Master Trainer, Specialized Equipment

Erika Hassan has studied dance for 15 years and started her GYROTONIC® & GYROKINESIS® training in 1993. After taking private lessons with Juliu Horvath for three years, Hassan changed her body and her life in general! The GYROTONIC® & GYROKINESIS® training opened up a vision of dance from the inside out, so that outer forms were dictated by the energy within. Hassan is currently a dancer and choreographer, as well as a Authorized Master Trainer, teaching courses in GYROTONIC® GYROKINESIS®, and the Specialized Equipment at GYROTONIC® Santa Monica and other studios around the world.


David Zurak

David Zurak has been teaching the principles of since 2003, after studying with Leda Franklin at GYROTONIC® New York, Studio Riverside. He credits the brilliance of the system with advancing his career to that of lead dancer with the famed Martha Graham Dance Company for 7 years. Originally schooled as a biomedical engineer, he applied his scientific curiosity to keeping in peak performance and in top physical health.  He credits GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® for helping him throughout many injuries and challenges of an international career as a professional dancer.  While mastering various Mind-Body modalities, David has also pursued parallel studies in nutrition, osteopathy, physical therapy and meditation. His private and group sessions focus on creating conditions for the body to return to its’ natural state of harmony and balance through an environment that is both challenging and rewarding, but respectful of the needs of each individual. As a certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor, he is committed to serving each individual on his or her own path of growth and discovery. A recent graduate from the University of Southern California MFA in Acting program, he continues to journey as an explorer and emissary of stories.


Danielle Litman

A physical force since birth, Danielle earned the nickname “The Hulk” after breaking a few walls (and noses) as a baby. Danielle’s parents enrolled her in dance and gymnastics at age two, looking for a more constructive outlet for her endless energy. Danielle studied Dance at the University of Arizona and earned a Bachelor of Science degree, then continued her education in Musical Theatre at Carnegie Mellon University. She became a full-time GYROTONIC® & GYROKINESIS® Instructor, eventually becoming certified on the GYROTONER® Leg Extension Unit and Stretching Jumping Board. She continues to develop her education by taking the GYROTONIC® LEVEL 2 Foundation and Pelivic/Lumbar and Scoliosis Therapeutic courses. She has found her true calling healing and helping people. But she didn’t stop there. Danielle’s passion for her own total health drove her back to school to become a Certified and Licensed Esthetician. One of the top skin care professionals in Beverly Hills attracted Danielle—first as a client, then an apprentice—with their philosophy of healing the skin from the inside out. Danielle has found the fountain of youth. She now shares her secrets in GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® and skincare with select clientele.


Yelena Shor

Yelena is a certified GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® instructor and has been teaching movement for awareness and wellness for over ten years. She holds a BS in Kinesiology, Magna Cum Laude, from Cal State University in Northridge. Following her training in Mechanical Engineering in Russia, she pursued her deep interest in human development in the US. Yelena came to know and appreciate the healing and transformative power of movement through dance, martial arts, Yoga, Tensegrity, Feldenkrais Method, Alexander Technique and DeCroux Corporeal Mime. She has team-led numerous workshops and seminars in the United States and abroad.
With her clients Yelena focuses on core strength, flexibility, posture and alignment, opening energy channels, functional and efficient movement for less wear and injury, more energy and enjoyment, and awareness to be in charge of your own wellness.


Kate Russel

Kate is a licensed GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® trainer. She is a certified GYROTONIC® PRE-TRAINER. She trained extensively with master trainer Sebastian Plettenberg in NYC. A lifelong dancer and artist, Kate’s early dance training includes a Certificate in Dance from the Ailey School. She earned a BA in Design from Central St Martins College in London UK, and taught in London for several years. While teaching in the UK she earned a Masters Degree in Dance and Somatic Well-Being. She is also a certified Dance-Meditation practitioner. Kate’s practice focuses on the healing and meditative qualities of movement, and how this enriches our daily lives.



Pensri, or as her friends and family call her “Pen,” is a native of Thailand. She graduated from Assumption Commercial College in Bangkok. She worked as a travel agent and ended up working for an International non-profit organization developing self-help projects for the Hill Tribe Women in Northern Thailand. There, she studied Yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Kong, Thai Yoga Therapy, and other healing methods to help improve the quality of life for the Hill Tribe women. Her fitness career started when she moved to Santa Monica with her husband who encouraged her to participate in a swimming program in 1985. She is certified in the following modalities:

Personal Training, Parkinson Exercise Program, Yoga, Thai Yoga Body Therapy, Tai Chi & Qi Gong, Egoscue Method (Pain Free Therapy), Posture Alignment Specialist, Pilates (L.B.D.C), Pre-Post Pregnancy Pilates, GYROTONIC®  (Master Trainer Donna Place), and Reiki.


Sheri Katz Scholobohm

Sheri Katz Scholobohm became interested by the therapeutic application of GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Yoga, and Pilates after dealing with her own health challenges, inspiring her to fuse the principles of all three to achieve maximum benefit. As a dancer and yogi for many years, she has a unique understanding of body mechanics and movement. As a teacher of movement, she has helped many achieve balance for their own body systems by combining mind, body, and spirit into their practice.

Certified by Marie-José Blom of Long Beach Dance Conditioning in 2001, Sheri has worked closely with Marie-José as one of her premier instructors. She also worked with Jennifer Gianni, appearing with Jennifer on “Jennifer Gianni’s Fusion Pilates for Pregnancy“ DVD. She completed a 200-hour Yoga certification through Tias Little of Projna Yoga. Sheri added GYROTONIC® certification to her repertoire in 2007 through Lisa Marie Goodwin, and 2010, earned her GYROKINESIS® certification with Juergen Bamberger. She is additionally certified in GYROTONIC® specialty equipment Leg Extension and Jumping/Stretching Board. Sheri regularly attends continuing education workshops and classes for GYROTONIC® Therapeutic work, pilates and is currently working with Tias Little and Sura Little on a 500-hour program with an emphasis on therapeutics and Women’s Health.

Leslie Alnes

Leslie was first introduced to Pilates and Yoga as part of her training as a young dancer.  As her practices deepened she was inspired by how effective both were at addressing the typical injuries and discomforts of not only the dancer but the non-dancer as well.  In an effort to deepen her own healing and to be able help others, Leslie received her Pilates Certification from Long Beach Dance Conditioning and Certification in the GYROTONIC® EXPANSION SYSTEM®.  She continues to draw upon her experience with Dance, Yoga, and Yamuna Body Rolling to enhance her teaching and enjoys inspiring her clients to create greater strength, freedom of movement, well-being and confidence.  Leslie also holds a BA from New York University’s Gallatin School with a concentration in Art and Advocacy.  When she’s not teaching some of her favorite activities include traveling the world and enjoying the company of her friends and family.


Gaida Paulosvka

Gaida Paulovska is a certified Pilates, GYROTONIC® instructor, and studio owner with over ten years of experience in helping clients achieve maximum health and vitality.






Valentina Val

Valentina Izyumova is a certified Pilates, GYROTONIC® and Yoga instructor as well as aerial teacher.She begun her journey as a dancer at age 5 in former Soviet Union. Inher teens she attended Dance Academy trained as a classical andcharacter dancer in the best tradition of Vaganova method. Finished Dance Academy with diploma of classical, character dancer and choreographer.

After moving to USA, she discovered Pilates and GYROTONIC® as a rehabilitation systems for dancers. Creative movements and dance was always main source of joy and creativity for Valentina. With a new mindful approach to the body, Valentina took next challenge and began to train in Aerial Arts at San Francisco Cirques Center with the best trainers from Russia and Mongolia. She became trapeze artist and performed in various cirques and dance shows.

Valentina’s approach in teaching is in bringing out awarness the clients ability to move with joy.
For her performances she was featured in LA Times, LA Weekly and recently in Malibu Times.


Tara Crites

Tara Crites was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and has been teaching since 2004. It began with her love for dance and in 1999 her talent in dance studies and performance awarded her full scholarships to California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA). This inspired Tara to obtain admission to California Institute of the Arts (Cal Arts) Sharon Disney Lund School of Dance where she where she honed the skills of movement, performing arts, and dance kinesiology. She furthered her knowledge in the dance field by attending The Harkness Center for Dance Injuries courses at NYU Hospital and completed advanced Pilates certifications with Marie-Jose at Long Beach Dance Conditioning in 2007. Tara also accomplished her national exams with Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) and is one of the first few instructors to obtain such requirements since their launch in 2005.
